Police on January 18 arrested 33-year-old Dal Bahadur Shah of Beldandi Rural Municipality-1 Tiger Basti on the charge of physically assaulting 31-year-old Gita Khadka and 24-year-old Ishwori Khadka on the same day.
Police arrested Dal Bahadur after Gita filed a complaint against him at Beldandi Police Post on January 18, accusing him of beating her and Ishwori on the same day for walking past his front-yard while they were on period. Police are further investigating into the incident by holding Dal Bahadur into custody at Area Police Office Beldandi, informed DSP Narendra Bahadur Chand of DPO Kanchanpur.
Gita and Ishwori have sustained injury in their hand and foot and are undergoing treatment at Nova hospital in Dhangadhi.
