Vice President of FNJ Sunsari, Santosh Kafle has been attacked by depositors of Salleri Savings and Credit Cooperatives saying that Kafle had failed to cover in a timely manner their agitation against the Cooperative. Kafle sustained an injury on his nose and eyes. According to a physician at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Kafle is out of danger.

Depositors of Salleri Savings and Credit Cooperatives are struggling to get justice after Chairman Krishna BK of Salleri Savings and Credit Cooperatives, Dharan embezzled 8 crores rupees of the depositors. The depositors have been agitating for the past 3 months while Chairperman BK is in custody for investigation.

The chairman of the struggle committee Tulsi BK, Naresh Shahi, and Deepak Rai took Kafle from his home to cover news of agitation. Kafle was attacked by some depositors once he reached there saying that he had come late.

The Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Dharan Sub-Metropolitan Committee and Nepal Journalist Federation Sunsari have issued a statement demanding strong action against those who attack journalists.
