The locals staged an hour sit-in on Tuesday at the Road Construction Project Office of Rani-Biratnagar-Dharan commercial road project protesting against its arbitrary standard. The Rani-Biratnagar-Itahari-Dharan roadway struggle committee staged the sit-in saying that the road construction of Tarahara-Itahari is being constructed on different standards. Nepali Congress leader Medani Sitaula demanded that the width of the road should be 82 feet at all sections.

During the sit-in, the staffs of the office were not allowed to enter the office for an hour. The struggle committee has been agitated for a long time demanding the same standard to be used in the construction of all roads in the area.
