According to Division Forest Office Morang,  there was an exchange of fire in Salakpur community forest and banana farm between hunters and forest officials on April 3. 

As per information received regarding illegal activities being carried out in the forest, a group of officials from the division forest office and personnel from armed police force went patrolling. When confronted those involved in illegal activities fired 9 rounds of bullets and in retaliation, forest officials and armed police personnel fired 7 rounds.

No one was injured in the incident though 3 people were arrested alongside 2 pistols, 200-gram bullet powder and some bullets shells were recovered from the scene of the incident. Among those arrested are Ganmabahadur Jogi, Kishan Karki, and Kiran Dhimal.

The hunters were in a group of 25 and those at large are being searched. Arrested have been taken into custody and kept in Division Forest Office.
