Chakra Bahadur GC, ward member of Madane Rural Municipality, Gulmi hit Bishnu GC, an 18-year-old from Ghimrakh Rural Municipality with a chair when a fight that broke out between the two in the border of Gulmi and Argakachi resulting in injury to both eyes of Bishnu GC.
The youth was beaten when he tried to enter the health desk as he had returned home from India 15 days earlier. According to a local youth Kapil GC, the youth was beaten in front of the police by ward member and his relative. Other eyewitnesses also said police personnel stationed in the area from Argakachi tried to stop the fight but another police personnel stationed from Gulmi did nothing to stop the fight.
On Monday morning, under the initiation of the ward chairperson of Ghimrukh Rural Municipality, a barrier was set up in Sautamaree to stop people entering Pyuthan to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
Ward member admitted that he raised his hands but only after the youth raised his. When he tried to explain that not everyone can go inside a health desk that is when the fight broke.
According to SP Rajendrasingh Khadka of District Police Station of Gulmi, he had got no information about this incident.
