Police fired tear gas to control the crowd after a dispute over relief distribution in Ishwarpur of Sarlahi district. Locals who reached the ward office at Ishwarpur Municipality-15 on Tuesday chanted slogans and pelted stones saying that the relief was not distributed in a fair manner.
Police said that they had to use force to control the protesters. Police also fired two rounds of teargas during the same period, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Madan Kunwar. Locals who reached the ward office premises to seek relief have accused ward chairman Kapil Dev Chaudhary of distributing relief by ignoring the real destitute and food-deprived.

Two policemen of the Area Police Office, Keshargunj were also injured in the incident who are undergoing treatment in a local hospital.
