Locals protested against discrimination in relief distribution in Janakpurdham, temporary capital of Province 2. Police intervened in the dispute when the situation went tense.
Locals alleged that Punya Prasad Yadav, Ward Chairman of Janakpurdham Ward No. 14, discriminated in relief distribution. Police baton-charged dozens of locals when they started to chant slogans against the ward chairperson.
Locals have alleged that the police charged batons as per the Ward Chairman Yadav's order when they went to seek relief.
