Province 1, Jhapa, Bhadrapur, Ward 8
Locals have protested against the decision of the local administration to construct COVID-19 hospital in the Bhadrapur Municipality of Jhapa saying that it will risk contraction of COVID-19 to residents of the area.
Residents and local representatives of Bhadrapur 5 and 8 have urged not to build COVID-19 Hospital in the area. A committee comprising local representatives of both the wards has been formed on Monday saying that they will not allow the construction of COVID hospital in the area. The local administration is planning to build COVID-19 hospital in a building being constructed near Mechi hospital in Bhadrapur-8.
Locals argue that creating a COVID-19 hospital there would also increase the chance of COVID-19 infection to patients in Mechi hospital.
