57-year-old Badri Bahadur Bhattarai of Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolitan City-16 died on Monday morning in Birgunj for want of treatment.
Bhattarai, who is a patient of asthma for five years, suffered from respiratory problems since Monday morning. And his brother Hari Bahadur Bhattarai took him to Terai Hospital of Birgunj, where he was treated five months ago too.
The doctors of Terai Hospital referred him to Narayani Hospital for the corona RDT test after looking at his reports. Narayani Hospital also suggested to take him to National Medical College upon knowing he is a patient of asthma.
As there is an Advance Medicare Hospital near Narayani, they tried to treat him there as well. Advance also suggested taking him to the National Medical College. The gate of the medical college was closed when they reached there, said Badri's brother Hari.
Badri was immediately taken to Birgunj Health Care. After looking at the patient's report, the hospital said that the ICU was not empty and suggested to take him somewhere else.
When the hospitals of Birgunj rejected for the treatment Hari decided to take him back home. In the meantime, Badri was already dead. Unable to believe his brother's death, Hari went to the Terai Hospital, where he was declared dead.
