A 38-year-old woman of Bateshwor Rural Municipality-3 sustained an injury after being beaten by her 40-year-old brother-in-law Birendra Mahato on May 6. The victim accused police administration and a judicial committee of not providing her justice even after she lodged a complaint.
The woman's husband is abroad for foreign employment and she accused her brother-in-law of beating her repeatedly. On May 6, in the field, he beat her with a wooden stick, punched and kicked her. According to the victim, there are still deep bruises on her thighs, back, and head.
She lodged the complaint on May 7 morning at the temporary police station, Bateshwor but the police have not registered the complaint yet saying that they cannot register the case amid lockdown.
The victim said that the police came to her house only after a day of the incident and they have taken no initiative for justice so far.
