Dalit leaders in coordination with the National Dalit Journalists Association of Nepal have protested against the Rukum incident by tying their hands with rope in Dailekh. On May 23, Nawaraj BK and 5 other youths were reportedly killed by the locals of Soti Village of West Rukum over a dispute related to inter-caste marriage.
They protested, demanding a fair investigation into the incident, harsh punishment to the perpetrators.
According to Amar Sunar, Central Secretary of Dalit Journalists Association of Nepal they have sent a memorandum to the Home Minister through the Chief District Officer of the District Administration Office, Yuvaraj Kattel by tying the rope in a hand.
