A clash broke out between locals and contractors in Deukhuri of Dang on Saturday alleging illegal use of the dozer in the Rapti river.
The clash broke out between locals and contractors when over 700 locals from Gadhawa Rural Municipality and Rapti Rural Municipality staged a rally chanting slogans to remove the excavator used by the contractors of Gadhawa Rural Municipality for digging a deep hole in the Rapti river in Gadhawa-1 and exploiting it to change the course of the river.
Contractors including Bikas Pun, the operator of Sagun Construction, fled from the spot after the clash broke out.
