20-year-old Sanjay Kumar Mahato who had gone to stop the illegal excavation of Badhadi River at Bateshwor Rural Municipality-1 has been injured on June 2 in the attack of crusher operators with homemade weapons.
According to Inspector Pappu Nayak of the Area Police Office, Mahendranagar, he was sent to Kathmandu for further treatment on June 3 as treatment at Janaki Health Care in Janakpur was not possible.
According to a team from the Area Police Office, Mahendranagar, Sanjay has sustained injuries at the head, ear, and thigh and his health condition is critical.
Police said that they were searching for those who were involved in the incident including local 30-year-old Manoj Kumar Mahato.
