Police in patrol on Monday baton-charged Top Bahadur Sunar, Vice-president of Dailekh branch of the National Dalit Journalists' Association, who was on his way back to his room after buying groceries from a shop nearby in Narayan Municipality-6 and spilled the lentils he had bought.
The victim expressed his dissatisfaction over the police's ignorance even though he lodged a complaint at the District Police Office. The victim lodged a complaint at the National Human Rights Commission's Karnali Province Office, INSEC, and other civil society organizations after the police department showed no interest. The identity of the police who beat him is not known yet. When asked about the delay in the process, DSP Hari Bahadur Oli, In-charge of the District Police Office, Dailekh, said that an investigation is going on.
