The locals of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolis-9 protested against the move of the Mayor to halt the construction of a community building that was to be built through the Prime Minister Employment Program and local partnership. They picketed the office of the municipality in protest of the Mayor Rajesh Ray and vandalized a table amidst the commotion.
Earlier, a group of 17 people, on July 9, submitted a letter to the mayor asking the halt of the project. The agitated group now claim that the group counterfeited the letter as it included the signature of the people in Qatar.
