Police have arrested three people accused of beating the chairperson Dambar Bahadur Basnet and deputy chairperson Pramila Basnet of Likhupike rural municipality on 14 June 2020.
The police have arrested Shubha Ram Basnet, Saroj Basnet and Tika Jung Khadka of Likhupike rural municipality-4, informed DSP Teku Nanda Iwa Limbu of District Police Office.
The victim were beaten in the chairperson’s office by the youths closely associated with Nepali Congress, informed the witness Prem Bahadur Basnet who is also the rural municipality’s Education Department’s Coordinator.
According to the chairperson Dambar Bahadur Basnet, Saroj Basnet misbehaved and beat him. While the deputy chairperson was beaten in a meeting of consumer committee by a group that came to discuss the construction of a road of ward number 4, informed DSP Teku Nanda Iwa Limbu of District Police Office.
According to deputy chairperson Pramila Basnet, she was beaten while discussion the budget of 5 million allocated to construct the road.
