A dispute broke out between farmers and police in Khokana of Lalitpur. The dispute broke out when the police stopped the farmers while they were ploughing the Sudol field on Monday morning.
Police have stopped the farmers saying that they are ploughing the land that comes under the Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track land. But local farmers said that they should be allowed to cultivate their fields.
Although the government has acquired the land to build the fast track, the farmers have claimed that they have received no money. The farmers of Khokna are demanding to cultivate their fields as they have received no compensation from the government.
Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have stopped the farmers in the field. Farmers have protested, saying they are trying to make themselves squatters.
They also chanted slogans against the government and the police.
