Police on July 6 arrested 22-year-old Rakesh Kumar Chaudhary of Shambhunath Municipality-6 on charges of sexually abusing a 29-year-old woman.

The victim had lodged a complaint at the Area Police Office, Kalyanpur on July 5 alleging that Chaudhary had sexually abused the woman on July 3 while under the influence of alcohol.

Seeing the sexual abuse, the victim's father-in-law and brother-in-law assaulted the accused Chaudhary on July 3.

The victim underwent a medical examination at Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital in Rajbiraj on July 4.

Dharmaraj Mudbhari of the Area Police Office, Kalyanpur said that further investigation is underway.
