Woman commits suicide after being tormented for dowry

On July 7, 22-year old Kalpana Thakur committed suicide in Janakpurdham. She reportedly committed suicide as she was physically and mentally tormented by her husband Jitendra Thakur and mother-in-law Madhuri Thakur for two years. Mother of the deceased filed a complaint of 'abetment to commit suicide' against Jitendra and Madhuri in the District Police Office, Dhanusha.
