Locals staged a protest on the premises of the Rolpa cement factory Pvt. which is situated at Trivedi Rural Municipality Ward 3 of Rolpa on July 14 at the call of the struggle committee headed by local Arjun Kumar Oli. They chanted slogans regarding the infrastructural development of their place. Giving a seven-day ultimatum to the industry operators, they have made public the decision to padlock the industry and stop the operation of tippers if it is not implemented.
Arjun Kumar Oli, a coordinator of the Struggle Committee along with the locals have said that they have to agitate as there is no implementation of water supply from house to house, giving cement to the locals at cheap rates and giving priority to the locals for employment and the industry operators did not show any interest in the implementation of the agreements made with the locals.
