On July 15, Area Police Office Dhalkewar arrested 22-year-old Ram Kumar Yadav of Ganeshman Charnath Municipality-6 on the charge of raping a 25-year-old woman.

The victim stated that Yadav raped her while she was collecting fodder on July 10. Inspector Tirtha Raj Karki of the Area Police Office, Dhalkewar told INSEC Dhanusha that even though the incident took place on July 10, the incident came to the notice of the police after the boy's side did not abide by the decision of the panchayat to marry the boy to a woman. The accused, who absconded after the decision of the Panchayat, has been arrested from the village.
