Police have arrested a 35-year-old person originally a resident of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-13 Sunsari, currently residing in Birtamod Municipality-8 on the charge of repeatedly raping his minor daughter from the past one month.
District DSP Rakesh Thapa of Jhapa Police said that a team led by Area Police Office Anarmani took the accused under immediate arrest as soon as the locals informed the police after they got the information that the last time he raped the minor was at 9:30 pm on Thursday, July 16. Rekha Adhikari, the chairperson of the single women for the human right group Jhapa said that they have registered a complaint on July 17 and the victim girl is kept in 'Chahari house' run by a single woman.
