On-duty Police personnel assaulted in Morang, 6 arrested

Police arrested 6 people for assaulting on-duty police personnel deployed to control the sale of illegal drugs at Karaiya Basti, Morang, Budhiganga Rural Municipality Ward-1 on July 30. Police were attacked by the local drug traffickers with sticks, spears, and khukuri. 3 police officers, Gyan Bahadur Basnet, Jiban Kafle, and Shrawan Chaudhary were injured in the assault and are undergoing treatment in Virat Teaching hospital.
The arrested have been identified as Balaram Rishidev, Dev Rishidev, Birendra Rishidev, Mahadev Rishidev, Nandanikumari Rishidev, and Alisha Rishidev.
Police are further investigating the incident.
