The Nepal Teachers Association Municipal Committee, Bardiya padlocked Thakurbaba Municipality, Bardiya demanding to repeal the rules regarding the transfer of teachers and submitted a protest letter to the Municipal Education Committee.
According to the Chairman of the committee, Khadak Prasad Upadhyaya the municipality has disregarded other provisions and introduced the discriminatory provision of arbitrarily transferring teachers and terrorizing them on the basis of political affiliation.
They also warned that the agitation would continue until their demands are addressed.
