3 locals stage hunger strike against local government in Baitadi

3 Locals; Vivekananda Pandey, Yogesh Chand, and Narad Prasad Bhatt of Baitadi, Melauli Municipality Ward-2 have staged a hunger strike with 5 point demands near the police post at Salena on August 4 against the local government for their arbitrary action against the public interest.
They have accused ward chairman of giving wrong statements and the ward of irregularities, negligence in the power supply. They have demanded proper power supply to the ward, on-site public hearing of the plans, selection of plans on the basis of real needs, and monitoring of the plan.
Earlier, the ward office had been padlocked on July 29 demanding power supply to the ward.
