After witnessing COVID-19 transmission at the community level, the local authorities in Kapilvastu have enforced curfew for the coming 10 days.
The curfew enforced in a bid to curb further spread of COVID-19 will come into effect from Friday 5 am which will remain till midnight of August 16.
The District Coronavirus Management Committee made the decision to this effect on Thursday.
All services except the emergency ones will remain closed during this period which includes banks, government offices and public vehicles. However, private vehicles like motorcycles and scooters have been permitted to operate according to the odd-even rule.
In recent days, the coronavirus disease has been detected at community level and is spiking daily at an alarming rate in many cities in Nepal.
