A case of rape has been registered against a non-Dalit youth for attempting rape on a Dalit girl in Katahariya Municipality of Rautahat. 

Gyan Kumar Mahato, Chief of Area Police Office, Garuda. said a case has been registered against 20-year-old Sunil Kumar Sah of Katahariya-2, Jamuniya.

According to DSP Mahato, a case was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim's father alleging that the youth attempted rape on the girl four days ago.

DSP Mahato informed that the girl health check-up has been done.

According to the Area Police Office, Sah is absconding after the incident.
