Musahar couple injured in assault held hostage by hospital

A Dalit Musahar family held hostage at the hospital have appealed to the Chief Minister of Province number 2, CDO, and the Human Rights Commission for justice and expenses of medical treatment. The victim’s family has lodged an online complaint with the help of Dalit Concern Forum Nepal.

On July 20, Shiva Chandra Sada (Bhutai) and his wife Maliya Devi Sada were brutally beaten by the entire family of Dina Shah of Agnisair Krishnasavaran Municipality-6, Mahuli, Saptari, during a dispute over water drainage. The couple who were critically injured by the attack were admitted to the Golden Hospital of  Biratnagar for further treatment. Since then the couple was held hostage by the hospital administration as they could not pay more than Rs 160,000 for the medical treatment.
