On August 25, police arrested 58-year-old Namaraj Shahi on the charge of raping a 19-year-old girl of Kalikot, Sunarbadi, Raskot Ward-4 in May and his son-in-law Khagendra Shahi for his involvement in the victim's unsafe abortion 3 months after the incident. Namaraj's daughter Raji Shahi, who was also involved in the incident is absconding.

According to the victim's family, the girl had been raped while she went shopping at a nearby shop. The incident came to light when the victim went to the health post following a sudden stomach ache and found out to be 3 months pregnant.
