Police obstruction in essential services, e-commerce operators arrested from the office

Although the decision of all the three district administration offices to allow food delivery to be operated during the period of prohibitory order, the police have arrested the persons involved in food delivery and e-commerce operators. On August 27, police stopped the representatives of almost all the companies providing online delivery on the road and arrested the operators at the office.

Police arrested Nikita Acharya, the operator of UG Cake for providing online delivery of vegetables and essential food items including cakes during the lockdown. Police have also arrested the operators of other companies providing online delivery facilities. A meeting of all the three chief district officers of the Kathmandu Valley had decided to implement the prohibitory order in the Kathmandu Valley since last Wednesday. It has been mentioned that permission is not required to operate vehicles such as medicines, basic commodities, fuel, gas, vegetables, fruits, milk, electricity, telecommunications, information and communication, customs. SSP Shyam Gyawali of Kathmandu Police Station informed that people arrested for violating the injunction. The shops are allowed to open till 9:15 am as per the prohibition order.
