Police have arrested-34-year-old Keshav Gharti of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-4. Myagdi, on August 27, on a charge of raping a 24-year-old. The victim’s mother had filed a complaint of rape in District Police Office, Myagdi, on August accusing Gharti had raped her daughter on May 29.
According to the police Inspector Dhurba Prasad Sharma of DPO Myagdi, the incident came out after the victim got a health problem and later was found pregnant in a health checkup. Prakash Koirala, a lawyer at the District Government Attorney’s Office, Myagdi, said the court has extended the seven day’s time on August 28 for investigation against Gharti. Health checkup of the victim was conducted at Beni Hospital on August 27.
