Dipen Sada of Surunga Municipality-3 Laxmipur has tried to burn his wife Basanti Sada alive for suggesting him to stay on quarantine. Dipen had returned from Punjab in India and Basanti suspected that he could have infected Covid-19. Dipen, however, took this as an act of shaming him and tried to burn her alive on July 20. Basanti sustained serious burn injuries mostly on her body parts below her neck and above the waist. She was referred to Burn hospital in Kirtipur on Saturday from Ram Kumar Uma Prashad Memorial hospital in Siraha after her condition worsened.
