Locals of Kakarvitta-Inaruwa section have started protesting accusing they were confused by the notice issued by the government regarding the acquisition of land to construct 106 KM Kankarvitta-Inaruwa rail section under East-West railway. The Railway Department has issued a 35-day notice and called for landowners of the railway line to take part in compensation programs. The affected landowners of the project said that the notice was published without mentioning the land number.
Several struggle committees were formed by locals across Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari accusing the compensation is very low and they will be in a homeless position after their land is acquired.
