World Hindu Federation demonstrate in Rautahat

Nepal World Hindu Federation Rautahat district chapter demonstrated in Garuda of Rautaht against police intervention at the chariot procession of Rato Machhindranath in Lalitpur on Thursday. The federation staged a protest accusing the government of trying to suppress the Newar community.
Addressing the protest Nepal World Hindu Federation, Rautahat District chapter chairman Tribhuvan Ojha accused the state is trying to promote other religions and cultures by sidelining Hindu religion, culture, traditions and customs.
A clash ensued in Pulchowk of Lalitpur on September 3, when police tried to stop locals from pulling the chariot in view of the coronavirus restrictions.
