Locals and the struggle committee formed by various political parties staged a demonstration in Mirchaiya of Siraha on Friday against alleged corruption and irregularities at the municipality. The demonstration in which thousands of locals participated turned into a short corner assembly of 20 minutes due to the restriction by local administration against mass gathering to prevent Covid-19. Speakers particularly blamed the mayor of the municipality Shrawan Yadav of engaging in excessive corruption and embezzlement. They have warned of further protests if the corruption and irregularity in the municipality continued.
