As India banned the export of onion and the black marketing of onion in Siraha, the local administration increased market monitoring. During the monitoring, three shops which were black marketing onion in different places of Siraha are sealed and their operators are arrested.
A monitoring team comprising Area Administration Office Lahan Siraha, District Police Office Siraha, representatives of industry and trade associations and local people's representatives arrested the shop operators along with 7,500 kg of onions on the basis of information that onions are being black-marketed in Golbazar, Mirchaiya and Lahan Bazaar of Siraha.
44-years old Umesh Prasad Shah, the operator of Jay Laxmi Sabji Bandar, of Mirchaiya Municipality-4, Binod Kumar Shah, the operator of Jayalakshmi Vegetable Store of Mirchaiya Municipality-5 and Ram Narayan Nayak, the operator of Ganga Traders in Lahan Municipality-3. are arrested.
