Eight people have been injured in a clash over the construction of a school in North Dolpa.
Eight persons, including the ward chairperson, were injured in a clash at Tenzing Norke Elementary School in Kaakakot in Charkatangsong Rural Municipality-4 on September 18.
According to the police, stones were thrown during the dispute between the ward chairperson’s supporters and ward member Khumchung Rokaya over the budget irregularities.
According to DSP Raju Pandey of the District Police Office, Guru Gurung, 35, Nimachiring Gharti, 60, Larkar Rokaya, 27, and Laamjung Gurung, 33 were injured in the clash.
Similarly, Lalman Rokaya, 35, Serap Gurung, 40, Sita Gurung, 22, and Ward Chairperson Chhewang Gurung were injured.
Khumchung Rokaya is also a member of the Judicial Committee of Charkatangsong Rural Municipality.
DSP Pandey informed that Ward Chairperson Chhewang and his son Guru had gone to Kathmandu by helicopter for treatment.
The injured Laamjung Gurung has filed a petition at the District Police Office, Dunai on September 20 seeking action against them for beating him.
Rural Municipality Chairperson Gurung has said that he was not involved in the clash and the allegations against him were false.
