Solukhumbu Police have arrested 25-year-old Ram Bahadur Tamang of Galchi Rural Municipality-5, Dhading on the charge of raping a 14-year-old girl on September 20.

The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office Solukhumbhu on September 26 accusing the Tamang of raping the girl. Tamang is a drive at Dudhkoshi hydropower project.

According to Inspector Mandeep Chauhan of the District Police Office Solukhumbu, the accused was arrested from Thulungdudhkoshi Rural Municipality-3 on September 26 after a complaint was lodged by the victim.

Inspector Chauhan said that the police had registered a case against the accused in the district court.

The girl has been examined at the District Hospital, Phaplu on September 26.
