Police arrested 8 people on the charges of settling an incident of rape outside court in Siraha. According to police, they were arrested for trying to save the culprit, 20-year-old Mukesh Kumar Sah who raped a 16-year-old girl from Bishnupur Rural Municipality-1 on September 28 by settling the case without informing about the incident to the police.

After this incident came to light on Saturday, police immediately arrested 61-year-old Jagbir Yadav, Raj Kumar Yadav, Ram Udgar, and Shyam Sundar Yadav known as Raudi for keeping Stamp papers. Police also arrested 52-year-old Sinheshwar Sah, Arabinda Kumar, Shatrughan, Rajkumar Sah and Mukesh Kumar Shah, the main accused in the rape case, for pressuring the victim to reconcile through the Panchayat meeting .
