Janabikas Secondary School at Suwannauli in Chhedagad Municipality-6 was vandalized and set on fire on the night of September 30. The school had published vacancy announcement for the position of Nepali subject teacher in the lower secondary level. Out of seven local candidates, Tirtharaj Neupane, became successful in filling the vacancy. The school was set on fire the night the results were published.
It is suspected that those involved in the examination were involved in the arson attack on the school but the police have not been able to identify the culprits involved in the arson as they assume that ward chairperson Ram Bahadur KC is trying to cover up the incident
Ward member Janak Raj Sharma said that strict action should be taken against anyone involved in anarchic and criminal activities in a sacred place like a school.
