The youth of Tulsipur staged a protest in Dang, Tulsipur on Wednesday morning demanding death penalty for the rapist and strict laws against rape and murder of girls. They pointed out the government’s inability in taking a firm stand on the issue.
The protesters sarcastically asked, "Is there any rape in Nepal?" and carried placards saying, "No, I don't know." They were also carrying a banner saying 'Yesterday Nirmala, today Samjhana, tomorrow you have someone?' They have also stated that such inhumane acts could only stop with a harsher punishment
The rally turned into a corner meeting after taking a round of the main market, Tulsipur. After the program, the protesters handed over a memorandum demanding death penalty for the rapist to Tulsipur Sub-Metropolis.
