Led by the National Unity Campaign, Hindu supporters on October 12 gathered at Bhimsen Gola in Kathmandu and burnt the effigy of Superstar Rajesh Hamal accusing him as a traitor in taking the honor of Hindus and trying to end Hinduism through raising anti-Hindu issues through a television program called Caste Question.
He is further accused for trying to create ethnic divisions and destroying Hindu religion and culture. Protests against Hamal is also intensified on social media on the same issue. The protestors demanded to stop the television program and apology to the Hindu community.
The program came into operation a few months ago, was started by the Samata Foundation to end discrimination and untouchability in Nepali society. But the Hindu supporters accuse Hamal for playing a role in the game of ending Hinduism with Christian investment.
Protestors carried posters with slogans against Hamal, such as,
‘Stop Christian Brokerage, a Hindu Rebellion, and a National Rebellion”, “Rajesh Hamal, and a hero or villain, Rajesh Hamal in Cell, Stop Attack on Hinduism".
