Adolescent girls of Surkhet staged a protest against rape wearing black clothes and covering their faces in black masks in Birendranagar on October 15 to put pressure on the government to bring in strict laws against rape. They protested over the recent increase in the number of rape cases and for no action taken against the culprits.
They carried placards with slogans such as 'How much more can I endure, No Means No, Stop Rape, My Dress Doesn't Means Yes'. They said that they are not safe as the number of rape cases is increasing in the country and even in a country with a female president, they feel insecure.
