Frontline employees of Bir Hospital padlock the room with NAMS’s officials

Employees of Bir Hospital padlocked the room with the official of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) accusing that they have neither received any Covid-19 allowance for working in the frontline and nor the festival allowance on October 18. NAMS’s officials could not get out of the room after the protesters locked them up. Around two hundred protestors including doctors, nurses and other employees participated in the movement stating that their demands were not addressed. 

One of the protesting doctors said that he had written a letter 15 days ago to provide proper safety equipment to the health workers who are treating the Covid-19 infected patients. And, they started agitation after the demand was not heard for 15 days. None of Bir’s employees working on the frontline has received Covid allowance so far.
