72-year-old Balaram Sapkota, and his 16-year-old grandson, of Bhanu Municipality-10, Tanahu, were arrested on October 18, on the charge of raping a 9, 11- and 12-year-old girls.
The victim’s side had lodged a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office on October 18, stating that the accused had raped the children on June 29 and July 19. According to the DSP Yuvaraj Timilsina, of the District Police Office, it took time for the incident to come out as the accused had threatened the victims. He said the accused were taken in custody for further investigation by extending remand from the district court.
Health checkup of the victims was conducted at Damauli Hospital, on October 18.
