All religious organizations and religious practitioners in Kaski, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad Nepal, the district in-charge Deepak Acharya staged a sit-in in front of the Kaski District Administration Office to pressurize for the re-opening of the temple on October 22. After the sit-in, a program to hand over the memorandum to the Prime Minister through the Kaski CDO was organized.
They questioned the government for not allowing to open the temples when all other institutions are opening and further requested to create an environment for an immediate opening of the temples as the daily life of the people whose livelihood depends on selling flowers is severely affected. They demanded that the people should not be barred from entering temples but should be allowed to visit the temple by taking all security measures including social and physical distance.
During the sit-in program, district in-charge Acharya, said that every individual has fundamental right to follow their culture and religion until and unless there is a state of emergency for only three months but as now there is no state of emergency the temples should reopen. He requested the state to respect the constitution with the recent case that the court in Bihar, India recently decided not to close the monastery and temple.
According to Kaski CDO, this was in line with the decision of the Council of Ministers, so he said that he would forward the engineer's statement and move forward as per the order.
