Locals of Bhim Dutta Municipality-11 of Kanchanpur obstructed the construction of spurs on the Mahakali River claiming that they own the property rights of the land inside the river on November 5. The construction company was preparing to build a spur for the construction of a pond inside the river where the locals reached with the property papers of the very land. 

According to the construction engineer, out of the five spurs required for the construction of the dam for river training, two had been constructed last year and the construction of remaining three spurs was obstructed by the locals this year which could damage the already constructed bridge.
