Adolescent girls wearing black dress, black band, black mask and black dress staged a demonstration at Haramtari Chowk at the Gorkha headquarters expressing concern over the recent increase in rape cases in the country. They were carrying placards with slogans such as 'How much more to endure', 'Stop rape', 'Be careful inside the house' and 'How long will be this silence’.
They are likely to continue this program to bring justice to the victims and pressure the government to take action against perpetrators of rape cases. They demanded life imprisonment for the perpetrators if the victim is above 18 years of age and if the victim is under 18 years of age, the accused to be given life imprisonment as per the Criminal Code 2017.
