Locals padlock Reliance Sugar Mill Industry demanding pollution control

Hundreds of locals from Shripur, Majhaulia and Uttarjhitkaiya padlocked and picketed at the Reliance Sugar Mill of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan-24, Bara, since November 9 demanding pollution control and compensation. After the industry management refused the written and verbal requests from the local community to control the pollution, the locals were compelled to protest.
They further complained that the dust particles caused eye pain, headache, diarrhoea and respiratory problems.
