32 locals of Amaltari -Kawasoti Municipality-15, who went for fishing in Narayani on November 21, were arrested by the park at midnight on the charge of smuggling. The arrested locals are the residents of Gundrahi Dhakaha Intermediate Zone.

After sending all the arrested persons for further investigation and action, the local fishermen surrounded and broke the gate of the CNP west sector office Almatari protesting against the arrest of the villagers and released them on November 22. 

According to the park office, they were arrested by the patrol team after entering the park under the pretext of fishing and spending the night there.
